a bit about me

I've always loved being outside. I grew up in rural Wisconsin and spent much of my childhood exploring the fields around our house catching bees or butterflies or frogs. I would ride my bike to the mill pond and watch the fish swim under the surface of the water, or sit at the end of the dock at my grandma's house and try to catch crayfish with my bare hands. When I got older, I lost touch with this for a bit. I learned how to build computers, use Photoshop, and started a career in design that would take me to Los Angeles. I will always look back fondly at my time there; I learned an incredible amount, had once in a lifetime experiences, and met a lot of incredible people including my wife. Eventually, we moved back to the midwest, and I was able to reconnect with my love for the outdoors.
